The sea washed gently over the body, looking more dead than alive. She was deathly pale, made even sharper by the black clothing and get black curls. There was a halo of blood floating around her face, staining the water pale pink as it dissipated. Her eyes were blacked and her lip was split. The hand that wasn't trapped beneath her hung at an awkward angle, with two fingernails torn away and her other fingers broken and smashed. One black boot was missing and the other had a broken heel. Patches of the curly hair were missing.
