"I'm not looking forward to it either, but it will come whether we want it to or not." She managed a small smile back. They probably still had work to do to get back to the way they normally were, but at least it was a start. It was a start at being happier again.
She let herself relax into his touch as he held her close, relishing the familiarity and what she had missed recently. She shrugged at his question. "I don't think he's very happy with me. I'm not very happy with him." She was quiet for a moment as she considered it further. "I don't want to because of how he's managed to push us apart. I'm afraid he'll do it again...but I also don't know how good I'll be at ignoring him depending on what he says if he tries to talk to me." She was at a loss there. She was afraid if the conversation turned innocent enough again she'd forget about not wanting to speak to him as her social side took over, but at the same time she didn't really think she'd completely forget it either.
