Antoinette was pretty sure that with Davey’s comments about being quieter in his dorm room he would not object to finding her there, especially since it seemed to her (just based on what she could tell) that something had him a little upset. Since he was her best friend, she wanted to make sure he was okay and not sad, so she carefully snuck from her own dorm to the sixth year boys’ dorm, crawling into the bed she knew was his on the assumption that he would not be all too long in arriving. Biscuit was already on his bed, and so she scooped the cat into her lap, petting him lightly as she waited. It was something to keep her hands busy, after all, and she knew that Davey would be pleased that his cat was there waiting for him as well.
Davey hadn’t meant to pull Sebastien from Luka’s arms, but didn’t complain when his friend had sought him out to hug him. Davey wasn’t surprised when, later that evening, he found Antoinette waiting for him in his bed. “Did you have fun with Trish?” He asked, settling onto his bed next to her and reaching over to pet his cat. It wasn’t unusual for him to find his friend making herself at home in his room, so he didn’t necessarily associate it with his earlier mood, which, despite Sebastien’s hug had not totally dissipated, though Davey had done what he could to reassure his friend.
Antoinette waved dismissively at the question about Trish (and by extension Galen, though that was not currently public knowledge). “As much fun as normal, pretty much. Decided I’d rather be around you though.” A teasing smile crossed her face and she curled closer to him, nuzzling his shoulder lightly, much like a cat seeking to be petted. Yes, Antoinette had a lot in common with the pets she and her brother kept, and she very much did like snuggling with Davey. The fact that he was not completely happy obviously did not escape her, and after a few moments she pulled him close, beginning to play with his hair gently. If he wanted to tell her what was wrong, she would listen, but really she just wanted to make him feel better first before anything else.
Davey was perhaps less of a feline but not much less of a tactile creature, and settled into her gently, sighing silently as she began to play with his hair. “Even with the tieing up?” Davey asked innocently, as though he wasn’t discussing his friend’s somewhat kinky sex life.
Antoinette laughed at the casual comment about tying up and shook her head. “There was not as much of that as you would expect from me. I was sort of a good girl.” Only not really, but that was typical of her. She liked touching and being touched, and so anything of that sort tended to please her. She shifted to kiss his cheek and grinned at him. “I still much prefer being with you to anyone else. You know that. You’re…” A thoughtful look crossed her face. Best friend did not begin to describe what he was to her, especially with the closeness he shared with both her and her brother. “You’re like another sibling, but better right now because you’re not running off with someone else and leaving me all alone…”
“Bas wanted me to cuddle with him and Luka.” Davey noted, somewhat absently, still petting Biscuit - and Antoinette. “Doesn’t seem like him to not want to cuddle with you too. Or do you not want to get between them either?” He asked snuggling in closer. “Plus, Luka doesn’t know about me.” He added casually.
“I think the pair of them need some time by themselves, really. It gets awkward with the cuddles and kisses with your younger sibling there, I would think.” Antoinette absently continued to stroke Davey’s hair, listening quietly. Okay, that could be a reason he was feeling a little off, she thought. Probably. She nuzzled against his neck softly for a second. “There’s nothing to know except that you’re brilliant, darling boy. We all love you, you know that…”
“I miss them a bit. I mean, they’re always together now and its good but… I don’t wanna be in the way or ruin things for them since they are both so happy together.” And Davey knew if he had an episode, it would shake them up - particularly Luka. “You an’ Bas can tell when I’m going funny but its not like any of us can stop it and I wouldn’t want to spook Luka.” It was bad enough that he had issues around Antoinette and Sebastien once in a while. “It’s been some weeks since I had a bad one, so I’m due.”
Antoinette pulled Davey closer and shook her head a tiny bit. “You could never ruin things for any of us, you know that. Luka will adore you as the rest of us do, and we are always here for you.” She stroked his hair gently and sighed. “You know you’re safe with us, Davey, and if Luka feels any differently, which he would not, Bas would not stay around him. He loves you too much, you know that.” She bit her lower lip thoughtfully and kissed his forehead, cuddling against him. “You’ve got me here though if something goes off, and you know I’ll always look out for you…”
Davey knew better, he knew if he had an issue it would end the cuddles or other fun that was happening between the friends, but Davey wasn’t going to argue with his friend. Not when they were cuddling. And Davey wasn’t much for arguing anyway. “I know he’s a good bloke. I like him as a roommate.” But it was one thing to be friends, quite another to trust someone with his issues. “I’m glad he and Bas are together. Bas is happy with him and I think he likes having one person more than you and I do.”
“I think it’s more...Luka is a lot like us. Bas and I anyway.” She was pretty sure Davey would understand the implication there, with the three of them being part veela. She personally did not see that allowing her to settle down, at least not for a long time. She liked the attention too much to really want anything else. She continued to stroke Davey’s hair, curling closer into his warmth. “You know though you’re still always going to be the main one that matters to me, no matter what happens in our lives…”
Davey didn’t necessarily get it - he didn’t always think about his friend’s Veela blood. But he got that Luka was foreign too, which made him different in a similar way. Of course even if he was a lot like them, Davey didn’t have the same history with him. “We don’t snog though.” Davey pointed out. They cuddled, regularly but it wasn’t the same.
“No, we don’t. We’ve got better than that.” Antoinette lightly nuzzled against his neck and rested her head on his shoulder, getting herself more comfortable. She did understand Davey’s hesitation and accepted it, though she had the feeling that Luka would accept him just like she and Sebastien did, given the chance. For now though it did not matter. They were comfortable and settled and if they decided to all settle with the other two, they could, but they would take some time before that, she figured.
