“Oh god,” Austin groaned outwardly as she let her head fall against the surface of her desk. What had she done? What had she opened herself up to? Terence invited her over to warm him up and without thinking about it further or that his intentions might be innocent she’d reminded him she wasn’t going to have sex with him. Fortunately or maybe more accurately, unfortunately, that apparently wasn’t where his mind went. He’d been thinking s’mores, cuddling by the fire and a movie - which was about as romantic as you can get. Something that honestly spoke to the hopeless romantic inside of Austin. It was perfect. ...and she’d thought he meant sex. Which was all fine and dandy until he pointed out that he not only hadn’t been talking about sex with her but that she was the one who thought about it first. Mortified, Austin was prepared to crawl under the desk at the nurses station and never come out from under it again unless someone was ready to push out a baby. That sounded like a great way to die. Instead of living under a rock, she’d live under a desk. “Oh god,” Austin groaned again as she lifted her head and put it back down rather hard, smacking it against the surface once more. Still, she wasn’t sure what hurt more, that or her pride and heart that things had come to this. He wasn’t even attracted to her anymore! Dr. Lindmoore, pathology called. They’re waiting on you. The distraction was welcome and Austin was up and away from the desk in seconds as she made her way from L&D, down to the pathology lab. Honestly seeing Eros would be good for her. She could be mortified with him and he might be understanding or he’d make fun of her. She wasn’t sure which and honestly didn’t care. She needed someone to talk her off the ledge. Talk her out of never leaving the hospital again. Especially since Terence had yet to write her back….which made her even more paranoid and worried. God. Had she ruined everything? “Kill me,” Austin groaned out as she walked into the path lab and saw Eros, her hand moving out to set the coffee she’d brought him down. “I think I just made the biggest mistake of my life with someone and dying on the spot sounds like a better alternative than facing him right now.” |
