Who: Jason and Esme When: Backdated to November 25th Where: Jason's office
After texting with Jason, Esme had changed into some jeans and a shirt. Already slipping on her heels as she made her way over to Avalon. Once inside she ran her hand through her hair as she made her way to Jason office. “Jay?” is all she said as she pushed the door open.
Once inside and seeing him, Esme had gone to lock the door with the security code as she moved towards his desk arms crossed. “You look like shit.’ she said standing across from him.
--
He’d put on something nice to pick up someone at the club, but now his tie was undone, his shirt was untucked and unbuttoned revealing the white undershirt beneath. His jacket lay over the couch and he had half a bottle of whiskey on his desk, some in a glass. Jason looked up as Esme walked in with a smile. His lip was cut and there was a tiny amount of bruising on the right side of his temple where Zel had clocked him. “And you look gorgeous- as always.” He said grabbing a second glass and pouring her a drink. “Here.” Jay raised his glass and took a sip. “So, you know about the gift that Officer Conners secured for us?” He’d mentioned the weapons, but they had agreed to take time to plan what to do next. “I think we need to get a team together and go in at night. Take ‘em all out where they sleep. Robin and her crew have been reconing. We can tag all their homes and then just wipe ‘em out in one night.” He waved a hand. “Problem solved.”
--
Her head would shake as she moved towards the desk and leaned on it beside Jay. The glass taken hold of as she took a sip. “I seen..” she said about the guns. But she didn't say anything as she simply took another sip while listening to his plan.
A heavy sigh escaped him. “Not saying that's not a great idea. Because it is, but you know Robin doesn't have enough men for that. And we don't have enough Knights to lend a hand. Not to mention, the Cyber right now outnumber us five to one.” she said lowering her glass and lifting his face to look at her.
Taking notice of the bruise and cut. Shifting she opened the drawer and pulled out the first aid kit and started to wipe at his mouth.
--
Jason reached up and took her hand gently. “So we train more.” He didn’t realize his eyes were watering. “They came into our house, so we cut them down in theirs.” He blinked and a few tears broke loose, Jay didn’t seem to notice. “I can’t let those boys die in vain.” Closing his eyes, he turned his head and pressed his mouth into her palm. “God you smell nice.”
-
A heavy breath was taken when he pressed his mouth to her palm. “Well train. And no. They wouldn't have died in vain.” she said pulling her hand from his mouth and lifting his face to look at her as she cleaned off his wounds.
Blonde hair falling lightly as she came to place the rag to the side once his face was cleaned off. “There.” she said with a smile as she took another sip of her drink.
--
He reached up and tucked the hair out of her face. “I should have sent back up… when they reported possible movement. I should have done something. Then…” He brushed his hand through his hair and got up from his desk with his drink in hand. “You know what a good idea is? So, this guy I met tonight, turns out he’s one of the racers in the green- a Rat.” Jason said, gesturing with his glass before taking a sip. “You know they hate the vat-jobs as much as we do? Apparently some beef with some of their guys from years ago. Remember that rash of car bombs in the green? Apparently that was them.” He flopped down on the couch. “They’re good with guns.”
--
Esme moved with Jason and her drink to the couch as she listened to him. Thinking for the moment as she came to take a sip of her drink. “We'll talk more about it tomorrow.” she suggested. “Tell me about your night.” she said to get his mind off of the attack. “You know I live semi curiously through your club life.” She said smiling as she leaned back on the couch and kicked off her heels.
--
Jason leaned back and put an arm over the back of the couch behind her. “Nothing to tell really. Had a few,” Many. “drinks. Chatted up a guy. Ducked out to the alley, took it from behind as he jerked me off.” Jay shrugged as if it were just another night. Of course he left out the part where he still felt empty after, and ended up taking the bus back to the white with a pretty girl who jerked him off in the back seat while he fingered her on the trip back.
--
She nodded her head. “Come on.” she said motioning him to sit between her legs on the floor Once seated she tilted his head back and played with his hair. Knowing it relaxed him.
“There. Feel better?”
--
He closed his eyes as her fingers ran through his hair and sighed. “You know me too well, Es.” Jay turned, an arm slipped around her leg as a his head rested on the couch. Life was spinning out of control, but Esme had pulled him back- for the moment. His best friend, oldest friend… well second oldest to his cousin. He sighed slightly, running his fingers over her knee. “God you smell good.”
--
When he rested his head on the couch she continued to toy with his hair some more. Snickering as she lifted his head to look at her. “You are such a charmer, Jay.” she said teasing him as she tugged his hair playfully. Her drink sipped at once more.
----
His eyes were red and glossy, as he looked up at her. “Gorgeous.” Jay said in almost a whisper. He turned all the way around, getting on his knees before her, a hand on either side of her legs. “Beautiful and smart, it’s no wonder you were chosen to Queen.” He reached up to brush her cheek. “You know, we should have given it an honest go… we would have been good together, yea? I mean you understand the job, and we work well together… You know I’ve always loved you.” As a friend, it wasn’t the first time they’d said it to each other. “We could be a great pair.”
--
When he turned to look at her, she stared at him for the moment. Listening as she smiled and ran her fingers through his hair. “We would of. But we would have gotten bored also.” she said honestly as she leaned closer and kissed his forehead.
“You know I love you. Always will.” It was true. They'd grown up together. And knew each other's secrets as she came to caress his lips slightly. “Even drunk and a mess you're still handsome how is that possible.” she said laughing.
“No wonder all the girls want you. The boys too.”
--
Jason laughed lightly. “I could never get bored of you.” Except he probably would, just like he did with all his relationships. “And even if I did, we’d be epic for a while… that would be worth it?” He rose on his knees and leaned in to try to steal another kiss from her.
--
When he leaned up to steal a kiss she moaned lightly, before pulling away. “Jason…” she said as she slowly opened her eyes. “What are you doing…” is all she asked as she brushed her hair from her face.
--
“Just a kiss.” No, it wasn’t. “That’s all.” Not in the slightest. “You’re so beautiful, can’t we just have a little fun?” Jason asked, running his hand up the outside of her thigh. “It’s just us.” No one would know. His other hand brushed up and rested against her cheek, tucking fingers into her blonde locks. “Es…”
--
She came to look at Jason, trying to breathe just a little as she licked at her lips.”... Just kissing…” is all she said as she brought her lips to press against his. Oh she knew this was wrong, but her King was also hurting. And she came to moan lightly in the kiss.
--
He rose up as their lips met and gently coaxed her back on the couch as his tongue pressed against her mouth to deepen the kiss. While one hand remained caressing her face the other rested on her hip as he slid onto the couch next to her, his body slightly over hers as their lips remained locked. It felt nice, warm, comfortable, familiar. But he still ached. Jason knew she was with Mickey, knew he was crossing a line, but he didn’t care. He felt empty and there she was. His friend, his partner. Jay’s hand ran over her hip and to her leg and her inner thigh.
--
When was placed on the couch with Jason over her, she couldn't help react. It was natural. Mickey lingered in the back of her head still, and as he deepened the kiss, she moaned a bit more. Gripping his arms. But when his hand started to slide over her inner thighs she brought her hand over his wrist.
Pulling his hand up and away from her inner thigh. “Jason…” she said when she pulled from his lips.
--
“Esme?” He asked, his lips moving to her neck as her lips had been removed from play.
--
When he started in on her neck, her body arched up against his. It almost wasn't fair, since Jason was her first they had a special bond to one another.
So it was natural her body to react to his touch and kisses along her skin. “Fuck..”
----
“We should.” Jason whispered, his hand testing her wrist grasp as he tried to return to seek to caress her leg.
--
Her hand had removed from his wrist when he started caressing her leg again. Her cheeks had flushed red as she came to stare up at him. “You...make it… hard to say no.. to you” she said as she felt her hips push up against his for the moment.
----
“So don’t.” He said, looking at her as his hand came up between her thighs to run along the outside of her jeans. “It’s just us.” Jason leaned in to kiss her neck again, fingers running up to the button on her pants. “We’re so good together.” At least at work. And she was Camelot, she understood everything. Why hadn’t he asked her out for real? Right? She understood him.
--
“But… Mickey…” she said as she came to stare up at him. “...No sex, Jason…” she said in a whisper as she felt him undo her jeans.
--
Jason stopped, resting his head on her shoulder. “He doesn’t have to-” With a sigh, he pushed himself off the couch and moved away. “You should go too.” He said, slipping up slightly as his mind was affected by being very drunk. This time, his voice was soft, not the same harsh words and he’d said earlier that night.
--
Esme came to sit up as she looked at Jason. Leaning up to kiss his forehead. “Maybe if things were different.” she said coming off the couch as she looked to Jason. “Go home, Jason. “ she said softly as she grabbed her shoes and made her way out.
But she'd come to a stop when realizing something. “Jason.” she said turning towards him. “What do you mean by ‘too’?”
--
“What?” Jason furrowed his brow at her question, then realized his slip and lowered his head. “Nothing,” He said, as his eyes started to water slightly again and his hand reflexively reached up to where he’d been struck on the temple. “I didn’t mean anything.” Oh it was a clear lie.
--
Esme knew Jason long enough to know when something wasn't right. So it was no surprise that she would turn back and go to take a seat next to him. “You're lying. Try again.”
--
Jason moved over to his desk, leaning on it as he shook his head. “Zel…” He said softly, replaying the fight in his head as his hand almost went to his face again. “We had a fight.” A literal one. “She’s gone.” His eyes seemed to tremble as the tears threatened to fall, though beyond that, he was managing to keep his voice steady.
--
Esme sighed for the moment. “Couples fight Jay.. the question is, is she worth the fights?” She said as she watched him closely.
--
“She just doesn’t understand.” Jason says. “I don’t think she ever will. Says I’m not doing enough.” He clenched his fist. “I just don’t know.” He closed his eyes and tears were jostled loose. “I love her, but… How can I be with someone who... “ She wasn’t Camelot, she couldn’t see his responsibilities. She wanted him to act, do something… but he knew that would get more people killed.
--
“The same way I’m with someone who doesn’t understand. Mickey gets it, because he’s a leader. Zel isn’t, she’s more or less a soldier. Not only that, the Wire deals with cyber attacks, not physical ones. So no. She’s not going to understand… But that’s also not the end of the world either, Jason.” She came to move towards him a second ago. “But I think you need to really ask yourself… Do you really love her? Because five minutes ago we almost did something we would regret. And yes, I would regret it because I love Mickey. “
Her hand came to rub at his back for the moment as she thought for a second. “I also think, we need to let the Wire in on what’s going on. They helped before, clearly they are our best allies in this war.” Her frame came to a stand. “Love isn’t easy, Jason… But if you really love her, you wouldn’t be here right now. You’d be at her place arguing and fucking and just being yourselves.”
--
“Fuck you Es.” He did love her, she understood his demons. But was that enough? “And you know the wire won’t join. Sure, Mickey might, but there’s four others who don’t have a dog in this fight.” Jason shook his head. “And she’s probably not even at home.” Probably at her lawyer fuck buddy’s home. “Fuck.” He turned to his desk and slammed his fist into the desk. The worse thing for addicts was stress, the bigger the stress, the worse things could get. Being angry about the situation on top was doing nothing for his temper. Sex or anger, those were his two modes. “I should have killed them all, left no message. Then, maybe they wouldn’t have attacked back. Burned the whole building down.” He fumed. “This is my doing, it’s my fault. I have to stop it.”
--
Es thought for a moment. “Love you too.” She said with a smirk. “Jay, that’s an excuse.” She said about him assuming Zel wasn’t home. But she did wonder a moment. “Jason… Why did the cybers attack your place?’ She asked with a curious expression on her face. “I mean.. No one outside us knew about Morgan, could it be they were there for something else? If so why now?”
To Es, it was a lot of questions with not enough answers. Hearing Jay say he should have killed them also made her sigh. “That’s why we have the Robin and her Hoods, you know that.”
--
“They wanted to shut him up… not ID the guys who killed his mom. I have no idea how they knew where to find him.” Jason shook his head. They hadn’t made the connection of Zel’s mom’s boyfriend showing up and possibly reporting it to whoever had been orchestrating things. “I just know they did.”
When she mentioned the killing his head lowered. He hadn’t told her exactly what went down, apparently Cat kept quiet about it as well. He felt real bad about scaring her too. “I did though…” He said softly. “All except one… at my hand. I left one and told him to tell his boss the boy was off limits.” Jason took in a painful breath. “The Hoods are good spies, but they’re not killers… they’re still kids.”
--
Es sighed for the moment. “Their not kids anymore. Not Robin’s men anyways.” She rubbed his back once more. “Go to Zel, make up. We’ll figure out an attack tomorrow morning. Cancel all trainings .” She said as she came to her feet.
--
“Es.” He said softly looking to her. “I’m sorry.”
--
She came to look at him. “You’re one of my best friends Jay.. So I’d rather you do something stupid with me than with someone else.” She said as she pulled his ear. “But no more. You hear me.” She said pulling his ear and soon letting go. “Just another secret between us, so no one will ever know.”
--
He looked at her and kissed her forehead. “Go back to Mickey. Be with him.”
-
“Go find, Zel and make up.” She said as she came to move back towards the door and was soon gone.
