Re: Digger & Izzy
To anyone who knew the name Digger, not a soul would have ever pictured the man as having a soft spot at all. No most simply thought him a cold blooded monster; at best a means to achieve an objective that few could carry out. At worst a boogeyman of sorts who'd kill anyone for cash. However beneath that stone like exterior some small part of his humanity remained. A victim of physical abuse growing up, his rage towards those who harmed children was whispered about by the most hardened of men.
Izzy had managed to slip past his defenses when all others couldn't even get within arms length. Their past, and present, was far from healthy by any means...yet when it came to the dancer Conners offered as much kindness as he was capable of giving. Granted it wasn't much; but in his own way Riley did what he could to keep her safe. Safe, provided and cared for as well.
So when he heard her voice the man went still, earnestly considering her words for a moment before a soft tired sigh was heard. "Got to finish a final transaction for the night, then I will swing by the club." There was no further need to say anything, since she already knew his habits and routine. Without saying a thing Dig simply disconnected the call, and turned his focus back to finishing up his work for the night.
