Late Afternoon: Merritt & Digger - Phone call
Destroying evidence was wrong for many reasons, but Officer Riley Conners didn't care. If the credits were good then he'd make almost any problem disappear; and with his unique set of skills, and his access to the PD, well he was a man who really could get things done. Oh over the line it may have seemed like Dig was disinterested or simply being rude, however he was already calculating the best way to handle Merritt's little problem...well finishing up dismembering the corpse. The fact that the lawyer never directly answered things didn't bother him in the least. Cautious people were easier to work with after all.
So be it. The problem can be dealt with come sunrise. Thinking twenty five thousand will cover the bill. There was no negotiating or haggling the price with a man like Digger. He never over charged, never price gauged his customers. In truth he simply calculated the risks and determine a fair market price of sorts. However after a moment of considering it further Conners spoke up again...this time with a trace of genuine interest in his voice. Interest and something darker. Now if you had a name for me, I could always knock of twenty percent for the 'Good Samaritan' discount."
Most of the time the killer for hire barely seemed to possess any emotions at all, but rarely when Merritt fed him a name. The name of a child predator. Well in those moments over the ICD Riley seemed to savor the prospect of inflicting unspeakable damage to those type of predators...to the point that he'd forgo credits just for the chance to rid the city of those kind of monsters. Have you got a name for me, Suit?
