RP Log: Seamus and Adrian Who: Seamus Finnigan and Adrian Pucey What: Adrian has some bad news for Seamus When: May 16th, around midnight Where: Ri-Ra; Galway, Ireland. Warnings: None
Adrian had stayed true to his word and took Tracey to St Mungo's to see a Healer. He was genuinely concerned about her and wanted to know nothing more than the fact that she would be all right. Yet, while she didn't list off any people to contact, Adrian did think of one person who may want to know about what had happened -- Seamus. He thought that the two of them were still together, but then Tracey did have a tendency to be a bit unpredictable at times. So, if things had ended between the two of them then it'd be a mistake on Adrian's behalf.
Then again, how would he inform Seamus of the scenario at hand. Personally, Adrian thought that sending an owl off would be especially rude given the events of everything that had happened. Plus, it didn't convey the sense of urgency and importance of the message that he wanted. So, he figured it would be best to tell Seamus in person; with that in mind, he Apparated off to Seamus' flat, hoping he would there and knowing that he would need someone there after he broke this bad news.
On a Friday night, there was going to be no luck finding Seamus Finnigan at home. Bartenders seldom take weekends off, and bartending musicians never take weekends off. Seamus was at work, pulling pints, mixing drinks, and trying not to run over the other bartender. Seamus and Scout (a tiny Korean girl who made the best martinis in town) had been busy all night, so much that Seamus didn't have too much time to think about the great deal of fun he was planning to have with Tracey later that evening. She was supposed to come back to his place after Dinner With The Malfoys, and he was going to forget about how tired a six hour shift behind the bar made him and pounce as soon as she walked in the door. Seamus had alternated all night between thinking about Tracey to distract him from work and thinking about work to distract him from Tracey.
Unfortunately, Adrian wasn't Tracey and he really had no idea what the plans were for afterwards. He assumed that Tracey would do something to an extreme, but really he hadn't figured it out yet nor was he going to allow himself to figure out what. It was no time to allow thoughts to linger; he had to be concise and to the point. "Seamus?" he called out, "It's Adrian." No response. Adrian did a quick scan of the flat there to see if he was there and when he learnt that he wasn't, Adrian figured it was safe to assume that he was still at Ri-Ra. So, he Apparated over there to talk to him.
Indeed, there he was, rushing around behind the bar for the Friday night crowd. He saw Adrian's entrance, though, and gave him a quick wave and a grin. "Adrian!" he shouted over the crowd. "Actually out on a Friday night! I'm proud o' ye!"
As much as Adrian would've enjoyed to engage in small talk, other things were far more important at the time. "Yes, I can manage to have a bit of a social life now and again," he told Seamus, knowing that his attire probably wasn't appropriate to wear in a pub. Then again, it was what he had to wear to the dinner party, and a change would be too time consuming. "Yet, that's not the point. There's something I need to tell you."
Seamus made his way down to the end of the bar where Adrian stood, handing a tray of drinks to a waitress as he went. "Ye might've noticed I'm a bit busy here, Ade!" he said. "Spit it out quick 'fore I get m'self fired."
So Adrian did just that. "It's Tracey; something happened and well, she's at Mungo's; she's badly injured as well. Just thought you needed to know that."
Amidst the chattering crowd, those words rang out clearly, reverberating in his ears and bouncing violently about in his head. Tracey, Mungo's, badly injured. Suddenly all the business at the bar seemed much less important than it had before, and priorities were rearranged into a very focused perspective.
"Hold one second," Seamus said quickly, and turned back to the other bartender. He grabbed her away from the line of beer barrels to speak very shortly with her, inaudible over the many people making conversation throughout the pub. Her eyes widened visibly with concern, and she patted his arm and shooed him off to meet Adrian on the other side of the bar.
"Scout's got the bar," Seamus called as he walked toward his friend. "An' she says she can fill Dougie in for me. Let's go."
