She laughs again, and leads her down the corridors of the sprawling house into the kitchen, which is light and open. There are two young women polishing silver, and they do indeed seem surprised to see Anna -- she waves them out, though she does it smilingly, and soon enough they have the space to themselves.
It's clear enough that Anna hasn't been in the kitchen in any real capacity in years; she has to search for the things they need, and it takes her a few minutes to figure out the oven, but soon they're engaged in the actual baking, and that much she hasn't forgotten.
While they're kneading dough, Anna says, "We'll have to be sure this is in by the time they want to set the table."
