Who: Roy Harper, Tommy Shephard, Mia Dearden Where: Midtown High School When: Monday, May 14th, (forward dated a day) What: Roy's doing his job - which in this case means checking up on Tommy Rating: PG for possible language I guess.
Standing outside the school he scanned the crowd for the kid he was here to see, he had been given a picture of one Tommy Shephard when he had been handed this assignment so he knew what the kid looked like. Since the kid didn't know him, and therefore wouldn't know he was an Agent of SHIELD, Roy had (grudgingly) taken one of the jackets with the SHIELD logo on it, and was wearing that over his T-shirt and he had more formal identification on him in case anyone questioned what he was doing hanging around a high school.
Working for SHIELD Roy found himself doing a little bit of everything - or at least that's what it felt like to him. Today's assignment was to go to Midtown High school and talk to the kid who had blown up part of the school, and remind him that SHIELD was watching him. Keep your nose clean, ect, ect, ect.
This was another case of his personal life intersecting with his SHIELD life, as Roy had to go to Mia's high school in order to talk to this kid. He was often grateful that his family was on the same coast as himself - it made finding babysitters easier, it was much easier to swing by the Queen family home now that that home was in New York, and didn't require a plane trip. The downside was assignments like this one, that took him to Mia's high school when he was in SHIELD agent mode. (And also assignments like the one where had had to go talk to Ollie about the whole Avengers thing.)
It was because this was Mia's school that Roy was having the issues today wearing SHIELD gear. He liked to keep his personal life and his work life as separate as possible, and he was really hoping that Mia had either skipped school today and was already gone or was in detention again for some reason, and that he wouldn't run into her.
Watching the kids exit the building, Roy spotted the person he was here to see and started to make his way over. While having to get the kids attention in the school being let out mass exodus wasn't ideal it was better then the alternative - which had been having Tommy summoned to the principals office. That would have sucked - Roy had logged enough hours in the principals office when he had been in high school, now that he was out he had no desire to spend anymore time there.
