Mia really was lucky. Well, she supposed if she were really lucky none of that would have happened in the first place, but she was luckier than a lot of people in her position. At best they ended up in the system, once that was easily abused and some people hated. At worst, they stayed on the streets.
Mia nodded. "Yeah. It's... it's not a problem." And it really wasn't. Mia usually needed to be gently prodded and pushed at by Connor to open up in any real way, but she found this had felt kind of good. "And thanks back." Sure there'd been some details missing but that had been the general story.
She gently patted her friend's arm and untangled herself, running her fingers through her damp hair. "Now, I say we get to something way less draining." She said, smiling. "Ice cream and something."
