"See," Tommy added, literally pointing at Eli. "He agrees. No harm, no foul. Besides, we've still got dinner." A three course meal should be more than enough to cover up the lingering scent of alcohol.
"I'm not saying we get trashed," Tommy added. "Just buzzed."
It wasn't that Tommy was oblivious to the atmosphere in the limo, he just wasn't concerned about it. Kate and Mia were thick as thieves which was what girls did whenever they hung out in groups. Tommy was sure they'd be hitting up the restroom together once they got to the hotel. (He was also betting that Kate's awkwardness was because she didn't want to make things awkward for him and Mia. Like they were dating.)
And Eli... well, okay, Tommy didn't know Eli. He seemed a little boring but so far he wasn't a complete killjoy. He had to have some good qualities, Tommy supposed, after all he'd managed to score a date with one of the hottest girls Tommy knew.
He looked at Eli, then Kate, then back again. "So are you two together?"
