"I'm not saying it has to, y'know..." Johnny waved a hand as if to indicate all the minor, stylish details, like hot rod flames, "but there's no reason why it can't look cool. Get some clean lines and flowing curves. Something sleek and polished and modern looking."
Form should be a blissful union with function, not an afterthought. There was a hell of a lot more to design than the surface parts like paint jobs and chrome detailing. It didn't have to have all the bells and whistles but it'd be nice not to get laughed out of the sky.
