"Well." He handed the pad over to Johnny and pulled up several files on the computer, throwing each different schematic and series of notes up on a different monitor so that he could show them to Johnny all at once. "Building a car itself isn't much of a problem; the body, the combustion engine, all of it is fairly simple to build." Provided that you knew what you were doing, which Johnny and Reed did, "But we can't use a combustion engine. I'm engineering the car to do a variety of things that would simply be impossible for a normal automobile with a combustion engine since, as you're well aware, combustion cannot exist without oxygen. I want it to be equipped for both deep sea and interstellar travel-- not to mention helping Ben and I simply get from Point A to Point B as quickly as you or Susan could fly. This means it will need an electric engine which needs to produce enough power to not only propel the car when it's on a road but also into the atmosphere. It needs to be able to resist the highest PSI that the ocean can offer as well as maintaining its integrity in the vacuum of space. I've already started the calculations to achieve these results but I need your expertise to advise how the various systems can be integrated without compromising the vehicle itself." Reed paused for a moment, looking over the calculations that he had been working on. He took off his glasses and lay them on the desk, rubbing the bridge of his nose once before pushing his chair back out of the way, giving Johnny full reign over the computers, various notes and the models. He watched his brother-in-law's face, looking for a reaction and hoping that Johnny would agree to work with him on this project.
"Basically, Johnny, I can handle the physics if you can actually make it run."
