Gambit had been something very different for Laura. Sure some of the kids treated her normal, mostly Cessily, but everyone else always seemed to tip toe around her like she was a time bomb. It was a constant reminder of her affliction, of her trigger scent. She could control herself just fine when she wasn't under it's influence, but that didn't stop her from worrying that some day someone would just release it in the school and she'd hurt a lot of them.
Gambit understood that she was a killer. He processed it and even if he was just acting, he didn't appear to let it bother him just one bit. His questionable decisions had confused her, but he meant well. She could smell that he was genuine, and by his actions knew with certainty that he cared.
While she didn't entirely agree that it suited her, she didn't stop herself from hugging it a little closer against her stomach when he said it. Her face turned away slightly. It was nice to be treated like a person. It was part of the reason she'd grown so attached to him in such a short period of time. "But what do I do with it?" She couldn't think of how anyone would want to buy her a teddy bear of all things. He said to cuddle it, and she was getting there, but what other purpose was there? She couldn't see any tactical uses for it.
