Kitty knew she could always rely on Bobby when she was in a crisis, but Scott... it depended on the situation and Kitty knew that. So as she stood nearer to Bobby, she took deep calming breaths in preparation for the forgiveness she would have to beg for. Only that didn't need to come.
Her initial reaction to what he was saying was similar to Bobby's. But the moment Scott stopped speaking, Kitty launched herself at him and wrapped her arms around his bigger frame, now burying herself against him. She had the best family in the world, even if they weren't all related by blood. She wouldn't trade any of them. She didn't believe everything he said though. She could sit there and list all the things she did wrong, what she could have done differently to make the outcome better. But the words still had an impact, loosened the knots in her stomach that had been making her feel ill for hours.
"Thank you, Scott." She mumbled into his chest, squeezing her arms to emphasise the words.
