Bucky had been young in World War II. But youth wasn't a shield for horror. Sometimes it could make it worse. But once his partnership with Steve had solidified and grown, the horrors had become less even if Bucky had done questionable things in order to keep Steve's reputation clean. He'd do it again in a heartbeat if offered. Though maybe a second time around he would have stayed off of the rocket.
He knew that this had had a heavy effect on L.L. She was fairly innocent in how cruel a person could be.
At the hug he bowed his head, suppressing a sigh before he rested a hand on her back. "I'm sorry too that you had to see what cruelty people can cause. Of what I'm capable of." He let his left hand lift her chin up so she was looking at him.
"And how long until my mind makes me betray you? What Strange did for James can't be done for me. The layers of manipulation are too deep in my head. Been there too long." He shook his head.
"You can't have a life with me L.L. I'm always going to be in hiding. Always going to be on the run. Not just from those who want me as a weapon but governments, nations. You can't be with me. It's no life for you to have."
