Bucky's silence had L.L. on pins and needles. Why was he taking so long to answer her? It was a yes or no question, right? Or maybe it wasn't. Decades together... that could complicate things, couldn't it? Especially after everything they had been through.
Her gaze lifted we he finally spoke, watching him as he tried to explain. So it wasn't complicated, but... they weren't romantically linked. Not anymore, at least. A weight lifted off her chest when she heard that and she breathed a mental sigh of relief. She had been worrying ever since she saw the two together; it was good to know just what they meant to each other.
"I understand," she said with a slight nod. And she did. It made perfect sense that they were find comfort in each other's arms when encountering all the hell they were going through. She gave him a small smile. "I'm glad you were able to find someone to help you through that time."
L.L. reached over with her chopsticks to grab at the food in front of him once again, lingering there a moment. "I hope... I can help you through this time," she whispered, her gaze down and cheeks red.
