The bird wasn't much of a warning system and the darkness hadn't suddenly increased its approach, however, Loki telegraphed spectacularly. A skill he probably saw as unnecessary given his magic. Damian dodged instead of blocked, hoping to spare himself a bruise.
His eyes hardened as he caught sight of the dagger in Loki's hand. He was afraid, more annoyed at having another complication. He doubted Loki's skill but not his grip. It would take more than a few quick strikes to disarm him.
Damian spared a quick look at the bird, agreeing with Loki's sentiment. The analytical part of his mind filed away the lie detecting bit for later (best to be vague and stick with half truths). Things like that would have been nice to know beforehand.
And then Loki was gone again, disappeared without a trace, and so had his mystery pursuer. Damian tutted then ducked slightly though it did nothing to stop Ikol from perching on his person.
"No," Damian responded, wondering why he was even answering the bird. "We can't leave him there." There were a multitude of reasons. Someone in the family was bound to notice. Whatever was pursing Loki might still be after him and, cognizant or not, waking or sleeping on the roof hardly seemed like the safest affairs. He would have to go after him.
But first, Damian set off towards the kitchen once again. There was no point in getting up on the roof if Loki was going to teleport again. Talking to him was bound to be more difficult this time. The only thing to do was try to wake him from whatever it was. Ikol had suggested water and that was one of the things Damian set off to get. Along with a grappling gun.
