"And you thought you'd sleep here," Damian said, stating the obvious. He frowned and debated his options. There was a perfectly serviceable guest room right down the hall and he could always make Loki go back to it. The other boy wasn't chattering a mile a minute so he clearly didn't have some misadventure planned. The bed was big enough for the both of them but that was hardly the point.
He was just about to prod Loki again when the door swung open more. Damian looked up expecting to see his father or Pennyworth but there was no one. This part of the manor wasn't drafty at all. Except for Loki, the room had gone tense. Ophelia had roused herself on the bed and Titus was being needy. Curious.
Damian dropped a hand to Titus's head, petting him absently and focused his attention on the doorway. It was probably something mundane, a hinge that had loosened, nothing to worry about. But then the door swung open just a bit more.
