Who: Dick, Maria Hill, open to Wayne manor folk When: June 11, 2017 Where: Wayne Manor, Gotham What: Dick happens upon a surprise guests while coming home for laundry day. Rating: Some cursing probably
People could tease him as much as they wanted about not doing his own laundry. Dick didn't care. He was too much of a slob about housework to bother. Honestly it was this or wading through clothes all over the floor and doing the sniff test on them daily. So of course as usual Alfred took the bag from him and seemed grateful that at least he didn't have to go to Bludhaven to fetch it (because he would if Dick didn't deliver).
"There's coffee in the kitchen area. Don't touch the cakes. They're still cooling."
"There's cake?" Dick bounded that way like an exited puppy, despite Alfred's patient exhale. "Whoohoo! Cake!"
He came to an abrupt halt once he stampeded into the kitchen/breakfast bar area. He had already turned toward the cakes like he was going to pounce them, small ones with chocolate and fruit sauces just waiting to be drizzled on. But there was also a person there, sitting at the bar with coffee already. He froze for a brief second to look at her, then moved just his arm to point toward the cooling desserts. "Cake."
Okay, not his wittiest greeting, but Maria would probably understand that he was not expecting to see her, had seen no sign she was there, and Alfred hadn't warned him someone would be here.
It wasn't often Dick was caught off guard after all.
