Mia! (and open to whoever wants to help)
There was no denying it. Nightwing had her when he texting asking if she wanted to punch nazis. Blowing shit up was just a cherry on the cake.
Dick had pulled her aside before everyone had arrived and given her another job. He knew she was smaller and flexible and could take care of herself. So while everyone was planting bombs and making sure not to get any hostages, Mia was sent on an actual hostage hunt.
She'd gone down right after Nightwing and glanced around quickly to get her bearings. She'd memorized the maps and blueprints they'd had access too, but that didn't necessarily mean they had all the information.
She'd gone through taking out a couple of guards but mostly staying in a shadows. She hadn't come across holding cells as of yet, but she'd made note in the comm when she'd come across an armory.
But this corridor was going further than their blueprints had indicated. The door at the was clear, which didn't seem like the most secure, until she noticed the small run of the mill office it housed with a huge high security metal door on the other wall of the office. "Guys, I found a lab." The man inside was middle aged and had a bit of a belly. Obviously a science type and not a fighter, but he was milling around quickly. He seemed to be turning stuff off and shredding things.
Obviously he'd gotten the message there were intruders in the base. Mia got to work quickly. She entered the door, arrow ready. The man put his hands up quickly. Mia almost instantly knocked him out, but thought better of it.
"Open the door to that room." He looked like he might not, but she stepped up a bit closer to him, and he made a show of not wanting to open it but he did. When she stepped through her heart dropped to her stomach. The lab was fairly large. On one side was biological samples floating menacingly in jars. But the other side was what made her want to puke. Two people were strapped to beds, unconscious. Two other beds were empty. The first had wrinkled sheets, but the other had several spots and stains of what could only be bodily fluids on it.
"Can you wake them up?"
"Oh trust me," he said smugly, "you don't want me to."
"Answer me." She said pressing into his back. The man headed towards the beds.
"They're not complete." He said ominously. Before quickly turning towards her. "Hail Hydra." And with that he quickly went for her breast pocket.
"Don't move." But before she could do anything he jabbed a scalpel into his own neck and pulled across in a swift motion.
She back away quickly, to get out of the way of not only blood spatter but his falling body. Damnit, fuck. She should have checked him over for weapons.
But there was little to nothing to do about it now. She took a couple large steps back as the blood started to flow near her shoes. "I have two prisoners, unconscious, strapped to beds. The doctor just slit his throat." She said into the comm.
These were two she couldn't get out on her own. Conscious people she could release and give instructions too, but not these guys.
That's when she started to snoop. It wasn't like she knew what she was looking for. She didn't understand most of what was on the charts. She sat down at a desk in the corner of the room. The computer was locked, but she knew how to remove a hard drive if she needed to. There was a tablet sitting there. That would be easy to pocket as well. She touched it and it turned on and didn't even ask for a passcode. The file that was up caught her attention. It didn't have James's name on it, but the description matched and the words "possible second generation super soldier" clenched it. She read quickly. The bottom had a notation that he'd been made to comply.
"Jesus, fuck." First order of business when done here. Reprogram HQ so he couldn't get in.
