Who: Natasha, Bucky, L.L., James What: Natasha takes James to Bucky for safekeeping and deprogramming. Where: Bucky's safe house When: Shortly after this Rating: Medium at least.
During the drive to Bucky's safe house Natasha had switched cars a couple times to ensure no one was following her. She pulled up to the building in an old, rusted looking Mercedes. Getting out she picked James up and carried him up to the top floor where the apartment was. As she approached the door it opened and she could see Bucky's grave face. She walked inside and Bucky shut the door, locking it. He took James from Natasha and carried the teenager to a room and laid him on the bed, cutting the zipties. He then chained James' wrists and feet to the bedposts.
Natasha came out of the bathroom with a first aid kit and began tending to James, her face still a mask and not revealing any of her emotions.
"How bad is he compromised?" Bucky asked, his voice soft.
"He tried to kill Steve twice." She pulled the knife out of her boot and handed it to Bucky. "My guess is the blade has some poison on it too." She looked down. "Steve didn't see it but I did..."
"And you had to shoot him to save them both," Bucky finished. He rested a hand on Natasha's. "You did the right thing. You had no choice."
"Doesn't make it easier to bear." She used a knife to slice off James' tattered shirt and began fully tending to the injuries she could see and needed tending to, focusing mostly on the bullet wound to his chest.
