She wasn't bawling just a little emotional, what with the misty eyes and all-- and the last thing she wanted was to have Damian ask her a question and her voice to crack and betray her. Alfred- as was his way- had gotten to her first and was already offering to make some tea or hot chocolate by the time Bruce appeared. Of course, this was exactly the kind of scene that she didn't want to cause, and she tried to wave him off to no avail. It struck her, mid-hug, that maybe he needed a minute outside of the nursery as well... if not for exactly the same reason as she did, then at least something close to.
She smile and let him get it out of his system before silently shooing him away again by passing the paints back over and carefully popping onto her toes to press a kiss to his cheek.
It was a few moments more after Bruce brought in the paints that Dinah rejoined the group with a fresh mug of hot chocolate, and went back to the window, putting her cup down on the windowsill (the only thing within reach) before she started slowly easing herself back to the floor where she could resume her painting.
