She hadn't expected him to show up at this thing given how much he'd derided the invitation she'd given him to her own event. But it was soon obvious why he'd shown up. He was holding a crumpled gift bag, and he wouldn't admit it but he looked a bit awkward. She whispered something to Lian, before haphazardly wiping her hands on her old jeans and walking up to him.
She peaked in the bag and smiled. "This is great." She was tempted to see if he'd written anything inside them, but there were people around. Also, if he had, she figured it would be a private thing.
"You should come paint. Since you're here." She was dead serious.
