They were still picking off turkey leftovers, but Dinah knew she wouldn't be able to get Mia over anytime close to Thanksgiving Day. She needed to be with Ollie-- and honestly, while Dinah would have loved to have her for Thanksgiving, she was glad someone was with him. She'd talked to Mia about the project at hand before, but it had taken Dinah a while to get everything else ready.
The upstairs nursery had been painted a robin's egg blue with brown accents. The furniture, which was currently pulled into the middle of the room and draped with drop clothes, was a dark walnut. The sheets and other fabrics were still packed away, not yet needing to be washed and readied for a few weeks still, but were white and light blue striped, with brown accents.
At 32 weeks pregnant, Dinah was starting to feel less and less like a human being and more like a human sitting, or a human not-sleeping. Certain symptoms of heartburn and various aches had come with the additional weight. Honestly, Dinah thought she was about as big as Barbie looked before the fake baby popped out seamlessly and she went back to a flat tummy. But unlike Barbie, Dinah still had another eight weeks to go which at this point was dedicated most specifically to gaining weight. Still, she was finally starting to feel excited. Scared still- but less of the possibility of miscarriage- and more about the fact that they were going to be parents. And soon.
"So.." Dinah said, one hand absently settled on top of her stomach, turning to look around at the bare blue walls. "I wanted to paint some robins in here-- you know, for the theme--" She gestured around to the blue and brown colors around the room, "And I thought it would be nice if everyone added one, in your own style, whatever you want to do, wherever you want to put it-- just paint a robin for Sam. We've got all kinds of paints, brushes, pencils, whatever you want."
