Re: Mingling - Loki & open
Damian probably was going to be even less thrilled to find it was a graphic novel with rather scratchy illustration, but Loki rarely suggested trite items or reads with predictable plot that didn't have at least some depth of idea. Adventures going from point A to point B with a hero and clear villain were fine for some, but he knew such simplistic ideologies would not do for Damian.
Not that it stopped him from throwing terrible pop culture references the other teen's way. Damian couldn't escape those, unfortunately. It was all in the name of entertainment, and Loki did try to entertain his easily bored friend. So he smiled, glancing at his profile through the thin eyeholes of the mask. Damian, an unofficial prince to a city with layered history and keeping absolute propriety, and Loki, an actual prince, by blood and adoption, whose very nature and role defied the reins of proper and expected behavior.
"All right, Lupin. The pendulum wields the infinite rosary of seconds." Loki fanned the cards neatly in front of his face and brought his other gloved hand up to lips. "Perhaps our crowd can offer us some entertainment." He whispered rapidly, index to his lips, then flared his fingers outward, little sparks of green light curling tendrils about them. "The utterances, my little breeze abets. Steal quiet, and bring us secrets." A flick, and the light disappeared, only his clothes ruffled with the small wind.
Loki smiled Damian's way. "This is funner. Although reading lips is fine, it requires staring, and the right people know to watch for watchers, and you can never be sure what's being said if their back is your way. Ah? Here's our first catch already." At first there was nothing, then words just started to come to them, ever so quietly whispering words as the breeze tickled at their ears. Apparently there was an affair going on, and right on the heels of that someone uttering about a bank transaction being complete on their phone. Then quiet for a short while. "Heh. And definitely better than trying to connive secrets from a demon."
