Re: Vision & Open
Vision was very noticeable on the floor. Not because of his outfit, which was just a common suit from the 1900's, but because he was at the party as himself. The synthetic skin with its bright color was hard to miss. He didn't mind the questions and murmurs so much.
But he did hear everything. It just came with the electronic ears and the ability to untangle conversations quickly from each other. So while no other parent would have heard it, he did--an unmistakeable giggle from across the room.
So now he was below the second floor banister, staring up with the hat tilt back as far as it could go without falling off, looking at a young black-haired girl with twinkling blue eyes who was sitting on top of the rail with her feet dangling over.
"No, Eira... You're not even supposed to be out here."
"Catch me!" she again enthusiastically demanded.
"You're supposed to be in the other room with the other children."
"Catch me, catch me!" She tried to stand, but didn't quite have the balance, so sat down again. "Please catch me?"
Vision's shoulders slumped an inch and he made a low exasperated sound, holding his arms out. "Only once."
"Once!" Then she dropped. And of course he did catch her, dipping her almost to the floor to take the momentum out of it before hefting the giggling girl onto his hip and poking her nose.
"Now enough of this. We will go home early if you try this again." Vision then looked over to a woman who looked mortified. "... Apologies. She wouldn't have been hurt even if I hadn't caught her. She's... I promise I wouldn't... Ahem... Come, Eira. Back to the play area." So he started walking away. "Now where did your bunny ears go? At least your shoes are still on. No, that does not mean to take them off." The woman staring after them still looked about to faint.
