Nope, he wasn't getting out of this. Especially when Conner told him to spill, and really, he was keeping enough secrets from Conner right now. He lowered his bottle before he took another drink, fighting the urge to sigh in defeat. Note to self--work on heart rate control more.
"I'm not jealous. She's... I'm fine that she's dancing with other people. Actually prefer that some." He looked at Conner's blue eyes fully, trying to keep the honesty apparent in his own. "Truly. I'm just... we're just..." Well, there wasn't a good label for it, was there? He frowned. "Actually, I'm not sure. Attempting is the word that comes to mind right now, but that doesn't seem to fit. But keep that under your hat?"
Then uncomfortably asked as he looked across the room at Mia. "... Did I really have a heart palpitation?"
