It was pretty late to be at HQ still when not actively working on a big project. Between missions and projects their jobs could be remarkably 9-5 sometimes. Today she'd actually been in the lab. And she'd been working late with FitzSimmons. They'd headed out about ten minutes before her. She was finishing up some paperwork, and it was on her way out of the lab when she noticed a flash on the security screen. It was brief and she was about 95% sure it was her mind playing tricks on her.
So she grabbed her sticks just in case, concealing them in the lab coat she had on. It didn't take her long to find him. She was quiet and she could tell she'd startled him. She cocked her head slightly to study him through the protective glasses she still had on. He seemed slightly familiar as if she'd seem some dossier long ago when studying up on some masks. She couldn't remember friendly or not, but that didn't matter. He had broken in the building without clearance.
But she could read body language. That step back he took was him casually trying to get in a defensive motion. It might have gotten past someone less trained, but it was basically a neon sign to her. She really hadn't wanted to get in a fight tonight. She'd spent the day in the lab and as such wasn't actually wearing much gear. Just business casual with a coal like the other lab geeks.
"Yeah, no." She responded. She took a step toward the panel on the wall that had security protocols on it, but on the way a slight twitch of her hand allowed the sticks to become free in an offensive motion.
