She had hoped to see him before the new semester of school began, but that simply wasn't to be. Instead though, she made the rare appearance in Gotham, assuming that the boy's father would simply overlook such a trespass for the time being, given that he had very well asked her to speak to him and she didn't plan to interrupt his studies by dragging him to Metropolis in the middle of the week. Besides, this also gave her the opportunity to see for herself the accommodations that he had claimed for himself outside of his father's home.
Though one generally wouldn't associate "take out" with Talia al Ghul; nevertheless she had brought food for them to share. She brought with her a collection of Middle Eastern dishes; mostly the shared plate style meze, but also including a za'atar spiced baked eggplant, herb and quinoa stuffed squash blossoms and a pumpkin kibbeh with spinach, chickpeas and walnuts. In addition came layers of pita bread with at least six different types of hummus and spreads. All vegetarian, mostly vegan, these were clearly not dishes made at a restaurant and grabbed on the way; but something specific Talia had chosen to have made for her shared meal with her son.
The dorm room seemed small; nearly like a doll's house, but whatever her thoughts on the matter, Talia kept them to herself, content instead to sit on the floor and to share the meal with their hands in a traditional style which she imagined meant far more to her than it did to him. Still, he was likely to humor her-- because she had not raised her son to be impertinent to guests, even if they were his own mother.
"As you already know, your father asked me to speak to you about your behavior regarding the prospect of a younger sibling. He believes that you have decided to leave his home in an attempt to distance yourself from your new step-mother, her child, and most importantly, and painfully, from him. He has said that he will only continue to support you outside of his roof provided that you learn to care for yourself; to feed yourself, to launder your own clothing, clean your own floors. He has asked me to do the same.
"Now I will ask you if you think his judgement is fair; and what you would have me do."
