"Perhaps I should; architectural drawings are difficult enough, without adding artistic ability to them." Ironically, as odd a topic as it was, discussing Damian's gift to his father made her feel better. Damian was Bruce's child, after all. She was talking about kids with Bruce and Dinah and didn't feel stupid or awkward. That was promising, right? Or at least meant the alcohol was happily sloshing her brain already. "It's not a talent I would have thought he would have been able to cultivate," she added.
They both knew he didn't care to drink, which meant him standing and crossing over to the bar to pull up actual bottles of alcohol had Maria grinning at Dinah in shared victory. And that, too, felt like an edge smoothing between them, at least temporarily. "Damian's smart and well-trained enough to do a patrol of Gotham on his own," she agreed. Was this what other people talked about when they talked about letting their kids stay out at night? Close enough?
"I've always got a Quinjet that I can order spun up," she said with a shrug. Which should cue their protests that this was Gotham, but buzzing the rooftops could at least make the criminal element nervous, which had to be a thing.
"So speaking of your kids," she added, "Dick dropped in on SHIELD HQ recently."
