He gave Miss Lane a pleased smile at her affirmation of his knack of solving puzzles, and a little nod of his head. "Thank you, Lois. And you have the necessary focus and tenacity that this kind of problem needs." Really, where had she been when he'd been crime focused? They could have made an amazing team, she'd have helped him much more than some of his previous idiotic hired help...
Attention turning back to Maria, he gave her a single nod as well. "Of course I am," he said, quite a bit calmer now. "But I'd like to add to that." Reaching into his jacket pocket, he took out a pen and pad of paper. "This is the type of access that I'll need," he continued, writing. "And this is how you're going to lock me out after ..." a sharp breath as his pen paused, "And what you shall do if something goes ..." his leg started nervously jogging up and down, "sour." He started writing again, his hand gripping the pen so hard, his knuckles turned white. "If you're worried that by giving you the way to keep me out again is only a way of giving myself access again down the road ... fear not. I've already thought of that." Another breath as he finished writing and slid the pad of paper towards Maria. "After all, I know my compulsions better than most."
