Lois pulled a pen of her own out of her case out of habit, without any promise of actually needing it. Clicking it absently against the table twice, she made a frustrated gesture with her other hand. "The worst are those who voted 'Leave' out of a sense of rebellion against the government, without any conception that their vote would actually count. That isn't how politics works! Now they're watching their country descend into chaos, the world's economy fail, and they're figuring out that there are no take-backsies." With a disgusted snort, she gave the pen another rapid series of clicks, then tossed it down. "If you can get me in with MI:6, I could probably convince Perry to let me do my story. A few, even. There are a lot of angles to cover."
With Maria's assurance that they were free to discuss the matter at hand, Lois sobered. "I'm not going to be able to find The World on my own, much as I hate to admit it." Her nose curled, annoyed. She glanced at Eddie. "No one is better at solving puzzles than Eddie, and you have the resources necessary to bring all this into fruition." She sat back, crossing one leg over the other, tapping. It made her impatient to have to explain what she wanted, but what she wanted was not something simple. That Maria could easily deny them, and that it was a distinct possibility, given whom Lois was asking her to work with, was something Lois didn't want to consider.
She turned a soft-eyed smile on Eddie, appreciating that he was only here because she'd asked him. She told Maria that. "Eddie's my friend. I asked him to do it, because he's the best, and I knew he wouldn't let me down." Shifting her gaze from where it had rested on Eddie, to the penetrating eyes of Maria, she smiled. "Take whatever precautions you need to, but I need to find The World, and I need the both of you to do it. I'm going to take them down, one way or another. I don't often ask for help." Her grin was almost feral.
