Re: Dinah and Open
"You both enjoy the argument too much." She pointed out with a knowing smile. "She'd try to out-stubborn you just to see what you'd do, if it wasn't going to stick her with someone else for dinner and, God forbid, a show."
Her eyes widened in surprise when he dipped her, and clutched to his neck and shoulders instinctively so she wouldn't fall, but she laughed even as he kissed her and righted her again. She declined to tell him that, as a member of the press, Vicki had been invited tonight. If he hadn't figured it out on his own already, she was going to take infinite pleasure in watching him suffer through it.
His serious change of topic caught her attention though, and for a moment she thought to ask him not to say things like that-- it seemed to neglect all the people that had been such a part of their lives before; Selina, Oliver...
A sad smile tugged at her lips at the thought of Oliver, adn she reached up to lace her fingers in with Bruce's,and closed her eyes for a moment before peeling his hand gently from her face, still holding it tightly. She wasn't sure by what miracle Bruce was still alive; but she would never stop being grateful for it.
"I love you." She said quietly, sincerely, and stepped into his space to place a tender kiss against his cheek.
But this wasn't the time or place for long sentimentalities, and, squeezing his hand one more time, she stepped back and put on a smile. "Now go talk to at least five people-- and then you can go sulk with Maria in the corner again."
