She was about to start with the whole "I didn't know you were here!" thing when he said something other than "hello" or "I'm down here". She blinked at that, his reply having thrown her off of her game, and she frowned a little. Finally she shrugged, as if deciding that telling the truth was her best bet, since she'd already been caught where she wasn't supposed to be.
"Maybe. I come down here some times. But it's way more interesting when you're down here." And that, at least, was the truth. She stepped further into the basement, idly touching some of the miscellaneous supplies stashed around, and mostly out of the way.
"So what are you doing down here anyway? And don't give me that 'your mom gives me advice' line again. I'm not dumb. You wouldn't come to a boxing gym if you weren't trying to learn how to fight."
