Who: Nyssa What: Contemplations Where: In front of the Lazarus Pit in Nanda Parbat When: Feb. 15 Rating: Lowish
Nyssa stared at the water below her, studying it with a critical eye. It was true there were Lazarus Pits all over the world, some known others not, but Nyssa had done all she could to ensure that her sister would not have access to any of them. Though it was more to keep their father from being revived. Nyssa knew if Ra's was returned to life he would seek his place as leader of the League. But his time had passed. More than that, Nyssa wasn't going to let him ruin the League with his obsessions. The League had been around, to her knowledge, far longer than Ra's al'Ghul. He did not control it. It was the duty of the Demon's Head to guide the League and ensure they eliminated injustice throughout the world to save it and that was what Nyssa was going to do.
She wished though things could be different between her and Talia. It was true Ra's never really favored his eldest child even though Nyssa had done everything he asked of her and more. But it was never enough for Ra's. Why, Nyssa didn't know. She had survived the worst cruelty in modern times during the second World War. She had found Ra's and demanded to be trained and inducted into the League. But it meant nothing to Ra's. He was far too blinded with having a male heir that he could never see how Nyssa and Talia could easily rule the League after him.
But now that Nyssa was in control of the League she was going to ensure it fulfilled it's original mandate of striking out evil no matter what or where it was. Talia would most likely do nothing other than to ensure that the League was ripe for her son to take rule when he was old enough. And perhaps it was his birthrite to do so. But Nyssa desperately hoped the Detective was able to sway his son from the path of the League. Damian didn't deserve the League. He was far too arrogant to be a wise Demon's Head.
Sighing, she turned from the pool and headed back up to her chambers, ensuring that the passage to the Pit was secured.
