Who: Dinah Lance, Barbara Gordon What: Snugglefest Where: Stately Wayne Manor When: Saturday, January 23rd Rating: G/PG
She didn't like not being able to go straight to the Clocktower to see Barbara and introduce her to Sin herself, but there were a few reasons why that wouldn't have been a good idea-- not the least of which being that her face was still a little banged up, and she'd never be able to justify to the press why she had a bruise on her cheekbone when she was supposed to be doing humanitarian work and adopting a kid. Thankfully, Alfred was always happy to make room for a guest like Barbara Gordon, and Dinah couldn't believe Bruce would mind either.
Dinah had thought that the first time that she saw Bruce or Mia, that she might embarrass herself by making a mad dash for hugs or crying; but neither had been the case. With Bruce, there had been too many other things to deal with before they actually took any time to greet one another, and with Mia-- well they couldn't both be in tears.
Such was not the case when her very best friend in the entire world wheeled into the library, shown in by Alfred. Already on the edge of her seat when she'd heard Babs was on her way, Dinah leaped to her feet and crossed the whole room in just a handful of steps, rushing to her friend and leaning down to hug her. It was an awkward angle, but it didn't matter to her. From across the room, Sin looked up from where she had half a dozen books opened and spread out on the floor to study (even though she couldn't read a word of them), and peeked her head up with cautious curiosity at the very strange looking newcomer.
For a long time, Dinah couldn't think of anything to say, and just gave Barbara a tight squeeze instead but she finally settled on the simple truth.
