"We're all very proud." Actually, that was far better than Ollie could come up with where mac and cheese was concerned, so he didn't have much room to talk, but if Lian wanted mac and cheese, Ollie would make sure she got what she wanted, even if he had to buy a mac and cheese restaurant to make it happen. Did those things even exist? Maybe he'd just pay a personal chef. That sounded a lot easier.
"It's even creeper when you add in the fact that said daughter was on the downhill side of 'over thirty'." He said, stirring the oyster crackers around in his chili. "So keep that lesson in mind next time you're pissed at me-- whatever else I may have done, at least I didn't name a storm after anyone you were seeing." He shook his spoon in her direction, and nodded sagely.
Mia never had been one to beat around the bush. He'd known that the first time he'd met her, it was one of the many qualities he admired in her... but that didn't mean it was always pleasant to be on the other side of. He supposed he should take this as a lesson on how other people felt around him, but that required more introspection than he felt like digging into today. Ollie pulled a sour face, stabbing at his chili with his spoon. These were times when he could use someone with some investigative abilities on his side-- he wanted to know a thousand things about Mia's visit with Dinah, but he didn't want to ask her a ton of questions. If only there was someone around who could get more answers out of a select few questions...
...Oh well.
"... How's she look?" He asked after a long minute of thinking over where he wanted to start. There was no use for it; might as well start at the beginning.
