Hal & OPEN
Hal had been invited. Then told not to come. Jennie's feminine mind-tricks may have worked on lesser men (i.e., Kyle) but he was not about to fall for them. The invitation had been sent out because she wanted him there, and who could blame her? Hal Jordan would be a welcome sight for all.
He arrived in usual Hal fashion: late and with a drink in hand. It didn't take him like to make friends, finding that art crowd certainly had a lot to deliver in the way of eye candy. He flitted back and forth, making small talk and occasionally making a positive statement about the art before he continued on, knowing that staying it one place would do him wrong.
The women, however beautiful or temporarily interesting they were, meant nothing to him the moment he saw Alan Scott. Jennie-Lynn had not mentioned he would be coming and he told himself to scold her later. For now, he had an old friend to speak with. Making a beeline, Hal managed to mosey his way into the conversation Alan was currently having with a man he had never met before.
"Alan Scott," Hal greeted, holding his hand out to the man. "It's been a long time." Catching up was quick to follow. If anyone could make Hal act tolerable simply by existing, it was Alan Scott.
