Okay, well, at least he was remaining calm. This was the reason she had made it a point to never tell him about any dates she went on. He always managed to figure it out, but his attitude that he had any say in that part of her life was annoyingly presumptuous. Especially since she never said a word about his habits.
"Okay," she said with as much patience as she could muster. "First of all, you don't actually get a say in that. Second, I did say no. Repeatedly. Until he mentioned discussing the armor and bringing blueprints, and then I thought maybe I could get something out of him that might be beneficial."
Pepper studied his face, looking for signs of how angry and/or hurt he was. "So I said yes."
