Who: Lex Luthor, NPC Toad
Where: Lex Luthor's home, New York
When: 6/28/15
What: An intruder breaks into the Luthor mansion
Rating: PG-13
Lex Luthor's mansion was state of the art in security. Like Luthor, the security measures were subtle and sleek, far beyond the curb of the technology on the market. He was an ex-president, and thus allowed the body guards to assure no one assaulted him. He was under house arrest, and thus had even more bodies making sure he didn't leave the mansion. He was a genius who knew his own mortality and trusted no one else on know best how to secure his safety other than himself, so the mansion was a comfortable fortress.
So it was with some puzzling indeed that there was a strange hissing sound of air that filled it briefly with the smoke of frying electronics. Then there was a skittering sound above, and suddenly Lex was looking up at a mutant clinging sinisterly to his ceiling, a blot of shiny, wet green skin, tattered clothing, a dark coat, and very hateful eyes against the pristine white next to the glittering chandelier.
Many mutants that had gone to the facilities that sprang up during the Registration Act had undergone hardships. Toad had obviously undergone slightly more. He was hardly recognizable as the chubby double-chinned mutant that had once crossed Lex's files. He was now muscled, lean, and when his tongue whipped downward for Luthor's head, it was not with any playful intention.
