NEW YORK CITY - Bishop Publishing announced a new charitable initiative Sunday. The Lost In A Book Project was created in response to Superman's 30 Days of Giving Challenge.
"The idea is to get books into the hands of kids that need them," explained Derek Bishop, CEO of Bishop Publishing. "I've seen the wonder that crosses a child's face when they get caught up in a book on the face's of my own children," Bishop said.
Bishop Publishing will be donating copies of their most popular children's book titles to a variety of organizations serving children around New York City. The first boxes will arrive at several of New York City's children's hospitals in mid-April.
"Reading a book is like getting lost in a new world. I'm honored to be able give that opportunity to children who need to get away from it all," Bishop said.
In addition to the Lost In a Book Project, Bishop will also host a fundraiser for local hospitals.
