Who: Maj. Carol Danvers and Tony Stark NPCs: -- Where: SHIELD base, New Mexico What: Tony visits Carol and offers her a job. When: April 4, 2012 - backdated Rating: Pretty low I imagine.
It was with a start Carol woke up after a two year long coma. A man name Charles Xavier had visited her there at the SHEILD medical facility where they had stashed her body for safe keeping after the incident with the Brotherhood when they realized that she was for, all intents and purposes, gone. He had carefully restored her memories but it was still unknown whether she would recover from the attack, let alone wake up at all. It wasn't an exact science and they had no way of knowing that it was going to even work. But it was worth a shot. That's why no one was surprised that it was another whole week after his visit that that she finally came to, disorientated and more than a little discombobulated, shouting and rambling on.
That was sixth months ago.
Since then SHIELD had been semi-helpful in getting Carol back on her feet, preparing a regiment of physical therapy and giving her a small job at the outpost there in New Mexico. Which Carol was grateful for, but she mostly felt useless - a soldier without a war, a pilot without a purpose. She was beginning to think that life in New Mexico was just an extension of her coma, but more boring.
Despite that, though, when word came in that Tony Stark—the Tony Stark—wanted to meet with her, and was coming to the base, Carol was less than enthused. She remembered him from Afghanistan, about a life time ago, and wondered what, exactly, he wanted with her now after all this time. What she did remember she didn't exactly like and may or may not have blamed him for what happened to her there.
They met in the base's office and she gave his hand a shake before clasping hers behind her back. As always she was dressed in BDUs, a military issued tee and combat boots.
"Mr. Stark," she greeted, her voice civil if not a little cool. "What brings you out here all this way?" She wanted to know and resisted the urge to tack on from your cushy penthouse to visit the little people? Whatever it was that he did want, she was going to promptly send him away - she had her pride after all.
