Damian's motivations could be seen as arrogant or self serving (and, truth be told, he didn't care what anyone assumed) but Grayson seemed to have an inkling about the truth. Every action Damian did was to prove himself to his father. To show the man his value and worth, to separate himself from those who had come before, and to gain his father's trust and his approval.
Both Talia and Bruce Wayne had impossibly high standards but, even though it lay in the dark shadows, the path was clearer in Gotham. Batman was less an alter ego and more of a mission.
Still, it didn't mean that Damian automatically embraced all the methodology. Playing nice with the police wasn't on his list of favored things to do. In his opinion, it got in the way of vigilantism. He finished cleaning up in this room and moved to the next.
"Do what?" he asked, caught off guard by the vernacular.
