That was one thing in which Damian and Dick were highly similar: failure wouldn't do. Failing Batman wouldn't do. Even though Dick didn't bob around the edge of Batman's cape any longer, it was still the mindset that failing him out here somehow failed all his tireless training and investment. It still failed the mission.
It was one reason he trusted Robin to handle the thugs so well. Damian wouldn't let himself screw up. As brash and infuriating and dark humored as the new Robin could be, he was well trained and disciplined. He may not act like he was listening or paying attention, but he was, if only to show the next time he could do it better than his elders.
"I'll take upstairs," he noted, switching back to heat vision and choosing the emergency channel to make his report to 911. He was done doing this by the time he secured the few thugs with zip ties. (Zip ties! So disposable, generic, and easy for police to maneuver around.) "Let's bounce," he said cheerfully into the com, making for the exit.
