Re: Receiving Line
"Well, hey, you know," Bruce gave a musical little laugh he would only use with Luthor. "Gotta grow up a little some time. Just not too much, right?" He smirked like they were sharing a great joke.
A meeting? He wondered what Luthor had in mind now. "Sure, Lexie, that would be great. Have your people give my secretary a call and set it up. It'd be nice to get away from the business stuff for awhile." He tried not to cringe at the thought of what kind of club Luthor might take him to. Really, it beleaguered the mind.
The idea of being Luthor's running mate made Bruce's blood turn to ice in his veins. He instantly wanted to call Clark and tell him, but resisted the urge to find the man and instead grinned as if honored by the suggested. "Well, that's an amazing endorsement, but like you said, I'd be all wrong for it. I really wish I could help, but I just don't have the temperament for politics and I'm afraid I'd just be a burden to your administration, Lexie. And I definitely don't do early mornings."
