Who: Jemma Simmons and Open What: King Lex's Court Alchemist tries to keep a low profile When: Day after Tavern Night Where: Streets of the town Why: Because people on the run need to make sure they don't attract too much attention but they still need to eat. Rating: Low I think.
She had the cloak pulled as tightly around her as she possibly could, hood pulled up over her face so far that it was actually difficult to see. In truth, she knew that this was most likely going to be a detriment to movement, but it was an unfortunately necessary detriment... For the last several days she'd managed to slip through the festivities undetected, making her way from one inn to the other, never staying at one more than two nights.
Jemma Simmons was smart. Some would say smart for a woman, but those who did would be glared at and - until recently - have been kicked out by a royal guard. But all that was at an end, an end she was choosing. It had all been part of the plan, but the plan to get away from the Court of King Lex I had ended upon getting here, to the grounds. She'd spent the last several days trying to feel out which of the other kingdoms she might disappear into, perhaps request asylum from. Given what she'd found out while working in the palace, surely someone would want the information! The plans he had in store needed to be stopped but she couldn't do it herself!
Glancing around for a moment, she was trying to keep her wits about her. She wasn't used to this. All this sneaking. She wasn't particularly good at it, but circumstances made for strange necessities. Especially as she was nearly certain, having realized that she was missing (as the King by this time knew, and she knew that he knew that she knew) he would have called for his assassin/tracker Deathstroke to find her, which meant that she wasn't safe...
Thus far the best options were the kingdoms of New York and Gotham... She had ruled out Boston early on and Latveria just last evening. But given the assassination attempt on King Lex, upon which rumors were now swirling, she knew that the hammer would be coming down sooner or later, which meant that she needed to hurry and find herself a safe place. And fast!
Stopping for a second to purchase a bit of bread from a young woman's stand, Jemma allowed herself a moment's reprieve as she ate it, hood still up. Thankful for once that her family lived so far across the water, out of the reach of the King she currently fled from... She needed to try and get audiences with kings representatives....
