"Well they certainly don't call you the best for nothing, do they detective?" Selina rolled her eyes as she spoke, glad that he couldn't see the small smile playing on her lips. That voice. Her eyes closed momentarily as she took a deep breath.
She had her back to him, looking down on to the street below. It was late and only yellow Gotham taxis and town cars roamed the streets, taking their passengers home, protecting them from the cold breeze that was sweeping in from the river. Even under her layers, Selina's skin prickled against the cold night air. She'd only been back two days and she found she was missing the middle east in ways she didn't expect - she missed the warmth. Selina turned against the wind to face him. She wouldn't admit it to anyone, but he was what she'd missed the most. She knew she would though, he was part of the reason she'd decided to abandon the city for a while in the first place. Get a new perspective on life - clear her mind. Someone more romantic might call it 'soul searching.' Selina wasn't a romantic.
He looked exactly the same. Not that she would expect to find him changed, but in her head he had morphed into a larger than life character. Memories will do that to a person. Selina tipped her head to the side a little, looking him over carefully.
