She smiled a little, a twisted smile that felt pained, pulling away from his body suddenly, her lips grazing his cheek once more. She tensed, the distance between them felt like miles, though it was more like inches. That was the problem, she got close, close enough to almost feel his heart beating under that breast plate. But the closeness made her bolt. It made her feel slightly sick to her stomach. They'd been dancing like this for so long that the boundaries had blurred.
